Miss Melba's Farewell from 2004
Thank you for stopping by. As of today, I am temporarily closing my business in order to pursue a career in Nursing. Over the last five months, my studies have taken up an increasingly large amount of my time and, as the Christmas season approaches, my academic schedule is only going to get busier. As a result, it is with regret that I now feel that I cannot devote sufficient time and resources to my beloved fruitcake company, and so have decided to call it a day (at least for the time being).
As many of you may know, I started this venture out of my home back in 1994 and it has remained a one-woman operation to this day. Always more a labor of love than a get rich quick scheme, each successive holiday season has been hard work, but also a great source of personal satisfaction. However, now with my children growing up and the business slowing down, I have finally found it necessary to choose a path that will better serve the needs of myself and my family.
My heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who has supported me and my business over the last ten years, whether a paying customer or just someone who offered a few words of encouragement. It has been my pleasure to serve you all and to know that I played some small part in making you and your family's Christmas special.
I plan to be back in business in the future but, at this point in time, it is hard for me to say exactly when that might be. Until then, feel free to email me and have a happy holiday season.
God Bless,
Miss Melba
